If you've always quite liked Metronomy, Late Of The Pier and the rest of London's electro-pop royalty but yearned for someone who can hit the high notes without sounding throttled, look no further than thecocknbullkid for your latest wired fix. Anita Blay's recorded output to date has been a melange of R&B, electroclash and soul with the odd bit of grime bite, but "Clean Apart" plays it straighter: slinky pop bulletins dodging squelchy swamp bass and treacherous drum cuts with a poise rare among 'indie' chart hopefuls.
