DOWNLOAD: MeLo - X - Let It (prod. Machinedrum) + Google Alerts (Nite 'N Day Melo-eclipse)

Honestly, we are into this new crop of prolific, multi-tasking rappers–guys who run their own blogs, DJ, and produce–mainly because we hate seeing artists get sandbagged by major label dreams. If his flyer-littered MySpace and Blogspot are to believed, Brooklyn's MeLo - X has been doing the everyman thing for awhile now, hosting and DJ'ing parties at spots like Coco66 and Sway and getting in the studio with people like Machinedrum to bang out glitchy, left-field nuggets. "Let It" is one of those Machinedrum collaborations, due for release on the producer's upcoming Want To 1 2 album, while "Google Alerts (Nite 'N Day Melo-eclipse)" manages to quote our nerd game and the ubiquitous Cudi in the same song. Further proof he's making real moves: dude makes his UK debut this Saturday at London's Cargo with Midnight Rockers Express. Peter Saville-inspired poster after the jump.
Sounds like: Theophilus London, Ced Hughes, Kid Cudi
