DOWNLOAD: Birds Of Avalon - Your Downtime Is Up
The North Carolinians in Birds of Avalon have a new record coming called Uncanny Valley and they are quick to point out that they recorded the whole thing to analog. What exactly this means in 2009 is up for debate (audio is inevitably converted to digital before you hear it), but while we aren't exactly "purists," we do have a soft spot for people that care and think about how these things are done. "Your Downtime Is Up" includes some great, cheaply-fuzzed guitar duels towards the end, like if The Sword went krautrock and decided to record everything in one take. In other words, it shreds, but atypically so.
