Over a year ago, in these two essays for the New York Times' "Measure To Measure" column, Andrew Bird discussed how this song, from Noble Beast (Fat Possum), was inspired by a screaming baby he'd sat behind on airplane. That is a great way of turning an annoying situation into a productive one. When I sat behind a screaming baby on a recent flight, it was so uninspiring I just ate three bags of pretzels and blew my earbuds by playing music far too loud. Bird is heading out on a summer tour of amphitheaters next week, dates after the jump.
