When the boozing and the blaring and dawn choruses get too much, I often dream of leading a better, more decent life. One spent outside in the daylight rather than in bed hungover, possibly with some kind of tethered animal and/or a tote bag full of fine cheese, bought early from the farmer's market and set to be swallowed elegantly at the dinner party scheduled for later that evening. It's in these moments that Fanfarlo's lovely horn and string laden indie-rock arrangements become my clarion call to decency's golden gates: their innocent amblings a roadmap to inner peace.
