EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Trudgers - Nothing Perfect Forever + Freezing Over

Odd things happen in Murrieta. The city, in Riverside County, California, has seen its population more than double in the last eight years, but its proximity to San Diego and Temecula, plus its status as the safest, most crime-free place in Riverside County, have turned it into a bedroom community of dozing commuters. That term - bedroom community - seems apt for Trudgers man Brent Mitzner and for the rest of the avant-punk crew manning this sleeping outpost. Mitzner's part of Rapid Youth and Trudgers is his side-project. His pals in Rapid Youth - Travis von Sydow and Tyler Haran - both have excellent side-projects of their own, in Ancient Crux and Twin Lion respectively, and local label Family Time houses all these four-track kings in its palacial surrounds. "Nothing Perfect Forever" and "Freezing Over" are fantastic - did you honestly think they could be anything else after all that spiel? - both eking out their own sort of lumpen grace, Mitzner's deep Curtis/Maus/Blank Dogs boom surrounded by light peels of guitar treble, future synths and ecstatic hi-hats, sounding like the toad that dreamt of being an eagle. Both of these should be arriving soon on a 12", issued through Family Time next month.
