EXCLUSIVE NEW STREAM: TV On The Radio - Shout Me Out (Willie Isz Remix By Jneiro Jarel)
.jpg)
When we first heard TV On The Radio was releasing a Read Silence Remix EP, based on their stellar album Dear Science, while we thought it would be a nice accompaniment CD, we assumed the remixes would never trump the originals. We spoke too soon. In "Shout Me Out," producer/remixer Jneiro Jarel of Willie Isz has flooded the originally jazzy track with hand claps, probing bass, woozy electric violin, and gauzy synths - creating a lush and danceable Animal Collective-meets-supernatural-sci-fi vibe. It's just like Saul Williams described Jneiro Jarel's music: "Otherworldly. Beats for hovercraft Saturdays. Makes an alien homesick." As for the rest of the remixes? You can buy the assortment on I-Tunes. Plus join TVOTR's mailing list or check their website to keep up-to-date on what's up next for the Brooklyn indie all-stars.
(Oh and if you were wondering what that melody of "Shout Me Out" reminds you of, it's Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' "Running Down A Dream.")
