DOWNLOAD: Railcars - Bohemia Is Without A Sea + There Is Ice; It Is Blue

Apparently, San Francisco resident Aria Jalali started his noise project Railcars after being offered a string of shows with the Handsome Furs in 2007. Definitely some lucky first gigs, but throw in a debut EP co-produced by Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart and a recent European tour with Crystal Antlers and things actually start to sound kind of wild. Jalali, though, is not just some in-the-know dude with righteous bros, his music is every bit as hyperchromatic as the well-known acts he's played with, submerging pubescent pop songs in a tank of acidic gear drainage. Two cuts from the excellent Cities Vs. Submarines EP–apparently recorded with Stewart on Jalali's kitchen floor–await you below. Pick up the full thing on iTunes right here.

Sounds like: Handsome Furs, Professor Murder, HEALTH
