The first we heard from Nosaj Thing (real name: Jason Chung) was his medulla-melting remix of the Flying Lotus track "Camel," which went up back in October. Now the L.A.-based producer is prepping his debut album, Drift, due to hit June 9th through Alpha Pup, and "Coat Of Arms" is the first track to surface. Over what seem like unbelievably slow drums, Chung layered pristine synth shrills and a cut-up, reverberated-to-hell bit of chanting. It's also got that "sounds like it was recorded in an underground cave" thing going on, which we're always into. Honestly, we kind of messed up on this one, we should've had it up yesterday (har har).
Sounds like: Flying Lotus, Portishead, Reefer
