Meanwhile, the assortment of lush instrumentals is reminiscent of the whimsy of Andrew Bird. Who is Michael Zapruder? An eccentric music experimentalist. In his 52 Songs project in 1999, he wrote, recorded and posted online a song each week for a year. This track is off his third album, Dragon Chinese Cocktail Horoscope, which Zapruder and Scott Solter (Spoon, Mountain Goats, Two Gallants, John Vanderslice) recorded and mixed the record in a two-week session at San Francisco's Tiny Telephone Studio. Sink back and sip it in the aural cool-aid.
