DOWNLOAD: Kate Simko - God Particle + Tevatron Dream

We are totally feeling the recent trend of noted electronic producers dabbling in film scores, Paul Kalkbrenner's excellent soundtrack to last year's Berlin Calling being a recent favorite. So, we were extra stoked to hear that Ghostly's queen of serene techno, Kate Simko, worked up a full album's worth of material for 137Films' new documentary, The Atom Smasher. The film follows the story of scientists at Fermilab--the U.S.'s most powerful particle generator--as they search for the Higgs Boston particle aka The God Particle aka The Holy Grail Of Physics. Or so say our friends at Ghostly (we are lagging on our nerd game). You can pick up two tracks from the score below--the driving, minimal thumper "God Particle" and a plusher ambient jawn called "Tevatron Dream." Pick up the full thing at the Ghostly site.
Unrelated but still of note, Kate just sat down with XLR8R TV to talk about her journey into the world of electronic music and some favorite spots to play around the world. Watch that here.
Sounds like: Audion, Paul Kalkbrenner, Praveen & Benoit
