In the incestuous world of electronic music, and in particular its capital of Berlin, collaborations are a dime a dozen. Projects and one-offs come and go, but few get quite the return greeting as MODERAT did earlier this year, when Ellen Allien's BPitch Control label announced that Modelselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary) and Apparat (Sascha Ring) were indeed making a full record together (the group's only previous effort, an EP called Auf Kosten der Gesundheit, came out in 2002.) The self-titled LP, due April 20th, promises to be a pretty vocal-heavy record, with contributions from California indie rapper Busdriver, some other Berliners and Ring himself. All we've heard, though, is the instrumental "A New Error," a brain-warming builder that crawls well below 120bpm and has a main synth that sounds like a rubber hammer wrapped in wool. We still don't really see how Busdriver figures into this but we're more than stoked to hear the full thing.

Sounds like: Paul Kalkbrenner, Audion, AGF/Delay

Modeselektor have done

Modeselektor have done tracks with MCs before, am sure Busdriver will fit in pretty well. Don't like him, though. :|

Psh, Busdriver is the shit!

Psh, Busdriver is the shit! Talk about poetry, dude can spit like Wordsworth could never've dreamed!
