Sean Bones @ Bowery Ballroom April 6th, 2009 (with The Dig and The Rakes)

What do we know about Sean Bones? It's the ska-influenced reggae rock project of lanky Brooklynite Sean Sullivan, who plays with the guitar ingenue Sam Champion (We first covered it last summer.) Sean Bones is signed to Frenchkiss Records (a bit of a surprising choice considering his rasta-influenced tracks but hey...) "Sugar In My Spoon" and "Easy Street" are perfect for this summer, for when you decide to haul a duffel bag of beers and reefer to the beach and watch the waves roll in for the day.

From under his turtle shell-shaped hat, Sullivan and his band brought sunny, swaying ska-reggae to Bowery Ballroom, while opening for The Dig and The Rakes Monday night. Shots are below.

Sounds Like: Vampire Weekend, The Cat Empire, Toots and The Maytals, Peter Tosh
