Much ado has been made about Grizzly Bear's new one, Veckatimist. Between heavy anticipation, far-too-early leaks, and the always-blowing-up Twitter page of lead singer Edward Droste, you could say that to be unaware of the Brooklyn quartet's new album is to be unaware of current indie music in general. And for good reason, if "Cheerleader," the record's first single, is anything to go by these four have not been sleeping on the follow-up to Yellow House. Built around the same kabooming tambourine beat of the Jesus And Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey," "Cheerleader" furthers YH's gorgeous four-pronged harmonies to new Spectorian highs, like a delicate, underwater take on doo-wop by four guys with art degrees. It is, unsurprisingly, gorgeous. Pick up the track for free and pre-order a vinyl copy of the album directly from the band right here, it will feature a limited edition book of photos shot by our buddy Hisham Bharoocha aka Soft Circle.
