For all the colorful melodies found in "Happy Up Here," Royksopp's jaunty new single, there's a hint of melancholy as well. In their restructuring remix, Holy Fuck pursue further that dark corner with a thrusting bass line, sheets of tangled synths and battering percussion. Only tiny twinkles of the original's unbridled joy shine through the murk, but as a dark counterpoint Holy Fuck's more organic riposte can't be beat.
