After a break from incessant touring - writing music in a small barn Oxfordshire and recording - the Brighton, UK band BrakesBrakesBrakes (or just Brakes as they are called in the UK due to legalities) are back with a new album Touchdown, out April 21 on FatCat Records. The band has indie cred seeping out of it – having put out two records on Rough Trade and having been constructed of members of British Sea Power, The Electric Soft Parade, and The Tenderfoot. Their single "Two Shocks" has a gritty, gratifying bass-beat that kneads itself rhythmically into your conscience like a deep tissue massage. Icy, talk-speak lyrics proceed- until the song combusts in shoe-gazing guitar finale.
