A little over a third of the way through "The Unbeliever," D.C. five-piece Middle Distance Runner cut into a break, keeping time with snare drum quarter notes and letting some bongos take front and center. Normally we would be all like, "Bongos are for the Matthew McConaughey types.." and this is definitely not Go-go, but we are suckers for bar music done by people that can really play, and the spot-on bass and B3 devastation on this one make it worth copping. It's from a new seven-inch the band is selling out on tour and via iTunes, and you can also watch a claymation-themed video for the track right here.
