There is perhaps not a more purposefully titled song than Tim Hecker's "Sea Of Pulses." Taken from the Canadian musician's new album for Kranky, An Imaginary Country, it's made up entirely of low-mixed droplets of bass pushing against layers and layers of overdriven mellotron, as ebullient a piece of ambient music as you'll find today.
