EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Mike Monday - Mr Gone (Brett Johnson Bredit)

Techno's chrome-domed prankster Mike Monday has kept quite busy since releasing his album, Songs Without Words, in 2008. He's followed up with singles for Great Stuff Recordings, a collaboration with Will Saul for Buzzin' Fly, and now an infectious new 12" for Saul's label, Simple Records. Monday is up to his old tricks on "Mr Gone," pairing all manner of textures and tone colors in unusual ways. Dallas TX's Brett Johnson is also on board for a DJ friendly edit: Rattling hand percussion, vibrating claps and loping bass riffs set the scene for a blur of neon-tinged melodies drifting and darting in and out of focus. It's the kind of techno made for fast driving or sweaty dance floors -- you decide which works best.
