Brooklyn's Motel Motel have a busy schedule this week, lugging their quiver of howlish barn burners to a lot of parties and stages around Austin. They were kind enough to hook up a brand new song for us to share, a hitherto live favorite called "Cowboy" that opens with thorny finger-tapping and sullen strings before surging ahead to sound something like Dr. Dog reinterpreted by The Mars Volta. We are into the indulgence. The band has been receving pretty continuous accolades from local outlets (New York Press named them one of the twenty best bands in the area), so we're glad to see them bringing the heat to places elsewhere. More tour dates over at their MySpace.
