DOWNLOAD: My Federation - Bus Stop Lovers
When I first saw the shot above, I got all excited that Wayne Coyne from The Flaming Lips had started a new band. (Instead, it's Lee Muddy Baker and the rest of My Federation.) That said, it's probably less than coincidental that My Federation describes their sound like "The Who drove at high speed, crashed into a giant synthesiser and the whole thing turned into a super monster that had sex with The Flaming Lips and The Beach Boys." In fact, the song "Bus Stop Lovers" sounds more like a Williamsburg electro-based troupe's pop-heavy zinger, to be performed in between Matt & Kim and Boy Crisis somewhere on N. 6th (save My Federations' occasional Beach Boys-ish "wooos"). Check em out for yourself at SXSW and let us you know take.
