First off, in case you are wondering why this pic looks familiar, this music sounds familiar, but the name isn't at all - it's because The Cheeky Cheeky Nosebleeds have permanently truncated their name to The Cheeks. "We worked out the amount of time it was taking us just saying our band name every day. We’re getting an extra 3 hours a year back just by becoming The Cheek”. (Their fans probably aren't complaining either.) As part of the upcoming English invasion in Austin (if you've ever been to the British Embassy at SXSW, you know what I mean), The Cheeks are taking a break from recording their new album in the UK in order to show off their energetic, hook-heavy pop rock in Austin. Below is the first track they've mixed with Ed Buller (Pulp, Suede, White Lies) - which proves to be moodier and sleeker than their earlier head-boppy pop hooks.

Sounds like: The Young Knives, The Wombats
