We've been big fans of Kurt Vile's ebullient weed folk since his slept on 2008 album Constant Hitmaker, but it wasn't until about thirty seconds ago when we read his bio that we learned Vile also has a hand in The War On Drugs, the Philadelphia band that gave us one of last year's best albums, Wagonwheel Blues. So essentially dude had a hand in two of the best records of 2008, an achievement that makes him our new favorite longhair and means you should pay attention if you're not already. "Beach On The Moon (Recycled Lyrics)," available for download below for only seven days, stems from a new full-length, God Is Saying This To You, due in April through vinyl subscription label Mexican Summer. It sounds like what you'd hear at a truck stop between galaxies and it'll sound really great in the Austin sun this week, where Vile will be playing a bunch gigs sans-WOD. Those deets after the music.

Sounds like: Vietnam, Woods, Blackout Beach
