Probably best known as keyboardist and co-songwriter for influential British funkwave group Ian Dury & The Blockheads, Chaz Jankel is perhaps not the most likely producer to solicit one of Hercules & Love Affair's best remixes to date. And yet it's here, a fresh, classic-house take on the revived Jankel b-side "Get Myself Together," pitting a bewitching back room falsetto against clanging guitar jabs, cowbells, and the ecstatic bump of Andy Butler's drum machines. The track appears on Tirk02, the second comp from London-based nu-disco label Tirk Recordings, which hits stores tomorrow.
