Germany's music scene was fairly straight laced until the late 60's and early 70's, and Can was among the first bands to break the experimental divide. "Mushroom" from their 1971 masterpiece Tago Mago is among their most accessible tunes, but everything from Damo Suzuki's yelps to the lock-step rhythms suggest something stranger is bubbling just below the surface.
