EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Gomez - Mix

With Nineties nostalgia creeping from the corners of minds keen on Wavves' slacker solipsisms and hyped by Blur's revival, now is presenting Gomez with a prime opportunity to come wafting back with their first album in three years. The band were the first I remember winning the Mercury Music Prize - for 1998 debut Bring It On - and "Mix" could easily be grafted from the record released over a decade ago; its breezy melancholia laced with wry stabs of wah-wah psychedelia, dual frontmen Ian Ball and Ben Ottewell singing with the same reassuring wist. Gomez sound like spring and spring's coming back again - is it any less exciting the 24th time around?
Sounds Like: Oasis, Bloc Party, Bruce Springsteen
