DOWNLOAD: Hungry Villagers - Tree Full of Ghosts

Here's some new dark melodic rock out of Houston, emboldened by electric guitar trickery, steady building drum beats, and deep potent vocals that sound eerily similar to Matt Berninger of The National.

The Hungry Villagers' story is slightly more complex: Brothers Jacob, Abraham and David Houck grew up in South Africa, where their parents preached and played gospel music to the local villages. We'd wager a guess that their childhood in South Africa - perhaps seeing poverty and literally hungry villagers - juxtaposed with growing up in the vast American terrain of the American Southwest with its infamous Texas-sized proportions - feed the flame for their forlorn, brawny rock. Whatever it is, it bids a good listen.

Sounds Like: The National, White Rabbits, Interpol, French Kicks
