Waking up the final morning of by:Larm in a very snowy Oslo, there was a melody in my head. After being bombarded with music for two full days, trying to figure out the song was took a minute but even after I realized it was SMALL the song didn't leave. "Sunshine Lover" is like cotton candy for your ears - not overly complicated but simply addictive. Live, SMALL opened with a huge instrumental song, filling a small Annex room with stadium sized drums, shredding dual guitars and intelligently inventive synth lines. When the synth player picked up his auto-tune filtered mic and started singing in a pure falsetto, I broke into a huge smile. Dance music for kids who like rock & roll, SMALL is ripe for remixing from both genres, perhaps there will be some re-inventions by the time Last Gang Records officially unleashes SMALL on North America this summer. A RCRD LBL warning: once these tunes get in your head, they aren't going to leave.
