Confession: I love the Bruce Willis movie The 5th Element and my favorite scene is the crazy blue lady alien opera montage. Listening to the epically delicate, other-worldly sound experiments created by Jenny Haval, the tortured but ethereal voice of Rockettothesky, there were visions of Milla Jovovich dancing in my head. On her album Medea, Jenny says that her songs are a sort of conversation with the dead which she performs on her own, live at by:Larm she had the help of Havard Volden playing autoharp and guitar and Kyrre Laastad making computer-based noises and drum beats under her surrealist folktales. Today's track, "Grizzly Man," perfectly showcases the nimble vocal acrobatics and spooky melody lines that make Rockettothesky seem from another world.
