This one is a slow-burner with a slight acoustic aftertaste that coils itself around you inch by inch over the space of a few minutes. Having wisely dropped the "To Your Mom" from his moniker, Eric Elbogen makes carefully crafted pop music draped with layers of effects and electronics that deceive with their simplicity. It feels very of a piece with the Barsuk Records vibe, and it makes for great Thursday afternoon listening.
