DOWNLOAD: The Press - Master + Nate Mars Remix

Calling Brooklyn home after several years spent in Atlanta, The Press are the newest addition to our in-house label, a trio of dudes bashing brawny, percussive music for indie rock kids with weekend warrior aspirations. Like a meeting between the Walkmen and Built To Spill at an after-hours warehouse party, their first release with us, "Master," is a big, exalting tune, built around quick-strummed guitars and sprinkled blasts of shock and awe crashes and toms. It's backed by a molasses-slow dub from Nate Mars, who got a nod last year when one his tracks wound up on Freq Nasty's Fabriclive.42 mix. Lots of vibes intertwining here, all of them good and exciting.

The Press have a run of shows soon leading up to SXSW, including a March 6 Brooklyn gig at a secret location to celebrate their new seven-inch (email headsup@thepressthepress.com for more info.) All those dates and more over at their MySpace.

Sounds like: Built To Spill, The Walkmen, Lemonade
