A good friend of mine in high school introduced me to a band named Hot Snakes. That band blew my mind. One of the brains behind it all was named Rick Froberg, an intense kind of guy that had already made very loud music in the San Diego punk band Drive Like Jehu. Froberg's in Brooklyn now and in a new band named Obits. Their soon-to-be-released Sub Pop debut I Blame You, is blowing my mind like Hot Snakes did back in the day.
