This song from Philadelphia's East Hundred feels very 120 Minutes; one can easily imagine it sandwiched in between a Belly video and a Rock-the-Vote commercial. Luckily, the throwback feel is nicely balanced out with dashes of weirdo production that help it straddle the sonic distance. The pleading, insistent vocal rises and falls like an EKG chart tracking the pulse of the rhythm section, while the white keys drop in and out for good measure. Plus, the opening guitar swell sounds almost exactly like "Where Eagles Dare" by The Misfits, intentional or not.
