DOWNLOAD: The BPA feat. Iggy Pop (The Twelves Remix)
Brighton-based producer Simon Thornton hooked up with Norman Cook and thus began the Brighton Port Authority, or the BPA. Beats and tracks were laid down and then the reach out began to create one of the most sonically eclectic records of 09. The final result is 12 tracks featuring artists as diverse as Martha Wainwright to Jack Penate, Emmy the Great to Jamie T, and the only place you'll hear David Byrne and Dizzee Rascal on the same island-tinged tune and Iggy Pop covering the Monochrome Set's debut single "He's Frank" with the classic Iggy growl, making "He got secular joy/ He's a peculiar boy" sound truly sinister, which you can check out in the animation vs. human vid above. In the spirit of the BPA's album title We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat, the Twelves toss themselves onto the already crowded BPA ship to bliss out "He's Frank," making Iggy ready for a lit-up dance floor. All aboard.
Sounds Like: Fatboy Slim, the Stooges, Talking Heads, Dizzee Rascal
