Sebastien Grainger calls it "F*ck-rock." Call it whatever you please. Whether or not you knew of Sebastien from his part in the Canadian dance-punk duo Death From Above 1979, his solo work cuts impeccable new ground. While some rock artists calm down into more sedate, tamer sonic territory later in their careers - opting for acoustic strums instead of heavy reverb, Sebastien Grainger has upped the ante for this solo release. Using his guitar as a gripping weapon- he's channeled his energy into intense, semi-apocalyptic and taunting rock. Until his LP Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains is out on Saddle Creek this March, chew on this.
