EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Blackout Beach - Skin Of Evil

The warped Nick Cave-isms that are spread over Blackout Beach's fantastic sophomore album Skin Of Evil are, at times, pretty sad. But like Cave, Carey Mercer--of Frog Eyes and Swan Lake fame--is able to turn that moping into some pretty amazing songs, songs that are held together with little more than some chilly keyboards, pianos, a few patches of electronic rhythm and Mercer's own perilous, abused voice. The record hits stores today through Soft Abuse (pick up a copy here) and we're excited to premiere "Nineteen, One God, One Star" this morning. It might not be the most uplifting music for this historic day (!!!), but at least it's not, like, Nick Drake or something.
Sounds like: Frog Eyes, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Wolf Parade
