EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: The Lions Rampant - 70-30 + Cryin' All the Time

The Lions Rampant released 2 EPs last year and both RCRD LBL tracks are from the ultra descriptive, The Lions Rampant Play Rock N Roll.  Hailing from Burlington, Kentucky the band sounds swampy and soaked in Bourbon, but contrary to what you might think of a band that has been known to dress in lion costumes on stage, there's as much goofy garaging going on as there is a total understanding and mastery of a pop song.  Watching the video for "Let Us In (Come On)" on their site, is a ringer of the Beatles in A Hard Days Night, and that extends to their sound.  I won't be finding out until tomorrow if the lion costumes are on tour when they open up a jaunt around the south and midwest in Chicago, but if they bring the costumes and the unbridled enthusiasm, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky are in for some fun.

Sounds Like: Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the Buffalo Killers, the Black Keys
