EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Browns - Dreamers + Two Of You

Sauntering into our stables this Monday are Brooklyn's unsung titans of mope-punk, Browns, a trio who've garnered some attention off a great debut EP on 1928 Recordings, the label that put out that first, bullet-ridden twelve-inch from The Muslims (now known as The Soft Pack.) Like their West Coast brethren, with whom they shared a few hometown stages this weekend, Browns sound hardly-overdriven and hardly-caring, the kind of band that might rather play for three than three hundred and have a better time doing so. "Two Of You" and "Dreamers" are the strongest cuts from the EP, the latter closing out the record with steady, soft blows and scraps of brittle guitars. "Dreamers" precedes it, a notably faster and more direct tune that sounds like it's arguing against the idea of big aspirations. Way to underachieve, guys! It worked!
Definitely grab the tunes below and if you dig, go cop the EP over at 1928's site. It's well worth the ten or so clams.
