This was back when Cass was keeping things oblique and hopping between genres as quickly as he was American cities. One minute he was dreaming of Motown, the next he was serving up a handsome slice of pie the way Morrissey and Robert Smith used to. So jangly and pretty. Where the hell is this guy right now? What is he doing? I never know what he's doing. A new full-length is supposedly on the way this spring. Maybe it'll be his metal album. That would be rad.
