DOWNLOAD: Women - Group Transport Hall

It may come and go in an instant, but Women's "Group Transport Hall" contains echoes of decades; the Calgary quartet combining scabrous post-punk textures with '60s psych cadence to great effect, landing somewhere between a sober Velvet Underground and The Shins' sharper, younger brothers. "Black Rice", posted on RCRD LBL a little while back, stretches that play between drug burns and heartfelt whimsy to its outer limits, until they pretty much have you convinced that music like this is one of the coolest things about being able to get up in the morning. Women will be touring the UK after their self-titled debut album gets its full and proper there through Jagjaguwar on January 19.

Sounds Like: Grizzly Bear, Swell Maps, Electric Prunes
