Dignan credits sleep deprivation for their woozy, ominous pop so it makes sense that the introspective guitar plucks, lazy cymbal brushes, and whispered, curling vocals in "Tangled Woods" seem to describe that moment of indistinguishable dawn- when the sun is not up yet and you allow your inner demons to leak through. "They're Outnumbered" is more lofty, up tempo pop-rock, like The Killers gone softer, melding with Paper Route-esque instrumental builds. The last minute shoe-gazed breakdown session towards the end of the track is particularly charged for those times you are ready to punch a wall and can't.
