Stoked to find this "original video" for "Planet Rock," because it reminds us that Afrika Bambaataa's outfits then/now (dudes have you seen that Zune commercial?) are almost as extravagant and imaginative as Gwar's. Classic party and break footage, stylin' dudes mugging for camera all over, Bam looking like some sort of shamanic wizard and the fact that it's Monday and this is a great pick-me-up all make it worth your attention. Kraftwerk sample aside, the synth drips in the bridge are so heavy. They sound like muffled velociraptors.
