I'd wager that the dudes in Mirror Mirror really dig on Barrett-era Pink Floyd. Their tunes are melodiously parochial and texturally adventurous, a hodgepodge of vibe and technique that owes a lot to the late, Aspergers-afflicted singer and his band's wayward excursions into pop music. But Mirror Mirror are self-aware cherubs amidst Brooklyn's recent psych renaissance (co-founder Ryan Lucero also plays guitar in Telepathe), recording on computers instead of two-inch tape, naming their album The Society For The Advance Of Inflammatory Consciousness and writing in their bio about their goal to reach "cosmic erotic ecstasy." We don't even know what that involves (probably a lot of echo and touching) so we're just going to light a scented candle and stare at our old Magic Eye book with these on loop. That should get us close.
Mirror Mirror play tonight with Extra Life at The Charleston in Brooklyn.
Sounds like: Telepathe, Of Montreal , MGMT
