The Mob were a British anarcho-punk collective from the late seventies and early eighties, squatters in slim-fitted leather and shoddily-dyed hair who started their own label (All The Madmen, they also recorded for Crass Records) and put out an impressive amount of wax in their short and tumultuous stint as a group. Twenty-five years after their dissolution, JD Twitch (one half of Glaswegian DJ duo Optimo) has re-edited their single "Witchhunt" as part of his 10 Inches Of Fear ten-inch for RVNG Int'l, looping the intro's heavy-strummed chords and thin drums into a seance of filth and lo-fidelity. 10 Minutes also carries three other edits of affiliated or similar bands and is partnered with a larger, edit-less mix of tunes from the era called 60 Minutes of Fear, a carefully assembled love letter from JD to a scene that birthed some really powerful rebel music. The RVNG guys have a package of both the mix CD and the ten-inch for sale at their site, all for a very punk twelve dollars.

Sounds like: Zero Boys, Crass, Wire
