Institubes have unveiled their latest signing of Parisian upstarts, an outfit called Poney Poney that sound like the Knack gargled through a Logic rig at the Justice studio. Little surprise, then, that Xavier De Rosnay produced their debut single "Cross The Fader," a three minute and twenty second nugget of sugary pop-rocking inside boxy amp plug-ins and deaded electro thwack. Grab some tunes below (including a remix from Chateau Marmont) and check the hilariously budget clip for "Cross The Fader" above. These guys are working on a debut album for the 'Tubes guys so keep an eye out.
Also: the Institubes RCRD LBL Blog has been featuring some of the rad artists behind the label's artwork, and their newest entry just informed me that the man behind all of Surkin's visuals is none other than Gaspirator, bka Gaspard Augé from Justice. Check that here. Sounds like: The Knack, Justice, Midnight Juggernauts
