Sounds Like: The Comas, Sam Champion, Birdnames, Titus Andronicus, Panda Bear

Netherfriends make some of the most likeable music this kid has heard in quite some time.  Perusing their blog merely reinforces the fact that I think I have a friend crush on Shawn, Angie and Paul (Newmann - what a name!).  But more importantly, the music.  It's fun, poppy, catchy as all get out and smart as a whip.  Which makes sense since the kids write about themselves that they "are a three piece psychedelic pop band from Chicago, IL.  We go to school, we play shows, and we record music."  Oh no.  They're from Chicago.  Which means when I see them play I will inevitably be awkward cause I just told you on this here blog that I have a friend crush on their music.  Give a listen to "Worean Kor" and "Friends With Lofts" and tell me you don't want to sit in a bar with these guys and talk about the merits of "The Dark Night" or what you expect from "Quantum of Solace."
