Not too long ago I made the huge mistake of letting a girl convince me that track was it. We were in junior high and at that time I guess I was willing to run sprints, miles and more sprints just so I could hang out with her everyday after school. We'd even have something to talk about. But besides constantly wondering why I was out there, I do distinctly remember wanting to run middle distance more than anything. This is where I segue smoothly into a riff on DC's Middle Distance Runner, a five piece that loves five ton choruses and codas. Wedding the pneumatic rock of the Strokes to the panoramic pop of Blur and the Killers, they don't actually reside anywhere near the middle. They sorta blow it up instead. Grab "The Sun and Earth" below and then, if you're stoked on it, shoot an e-mail over to contests@rcrdlbl.com for a shot at winning some free tickets to catch them in CMJ mode next Tuesday, the 21st. Just toss "The Sun And Earth" in the subject header and you're good to go.

Sounds Like: Blur, Strokes, Killers
