EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: The Temper Trap - Science of Fear

I ain't gonna lie; since I was born in Sydney, Oz, I am inherently biased towards bands from Australia. It's not a bad thing though- since there's so much riotous, bad-ass music busted moves out of Australia- especially from Melbourne, the artistic mecca of Australia - that's left uncovered by other American music blogs. (For the record, RCRD LBL has been ahead of the curve for a while; they covered the band "Ghostwood" in winter of last year; who are AMAZING.)
Well, here's a taste of a nu wave rock band out of Melbourne. It's rock with all its dramatic components; shimmering cymbals, synth undertones, fast-paced pedal-heavy guitars. But the secret weapon? The luscious, seductive, quivering voice of their Indonesian singer known as.......... Dougy. His voice busts out over the drum rythmns like a silver bullet and hovers right about the mark of Caleb Followill of Kings of Leon and the crazed Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta, before crashing down just before you start to feel too comfortable.
Sounds Like: The Panics, Rocket Science, Ghostwood
