Turning 21 at the Echo
Friday night, October 10th, we celebrated our 21st birthdays by playing a show at the Echo in Los Angeles.
Joe's birthday is actually the 10th, but mine is the 11th... so technically I had to wait until midnight before I could drink legally. I didn't get carded once that night, and have YET to be carded. Anywhere. I went round to the shops and bought a bottle of wine, and they didn't even blink. How frustrating. We could have been getting away with it for years!
The show was great. After our set, Joe filled in on bass for Love Grenades (who are currently doing the residency at The Echo) and managed to cut his hand, bleeding all over my bass, which he was borrowing.
There's a live review coming out this week in LA CITYBEAT, so if you know where to find that magazine, check it out.
There's also a brief interview with me in the upcoming issue of BLEND magazine... if you live in the Netherlands, or near an exotic newsstand... check that one out too!
Here are some pictures from the night!
Love,
Luke
Thanks to Nico (our drummer) for bringing party hats and noise-makers:
