The beginning of this unreleased Cold War Kids track—a b-side only previously available with the iTunes pre-order of Loyalty To Loyalty—is about the closet thing the band have ever come to playing jazz. The guitars sound like they’re dripping down the walls and Nathan Willet’s feline stammer is born for Reno cocktail lounge, shuffling these cats towards a refrain that surrenders the mix to sheets of milky organ and a coda of jamming Velvet Underground noise with the usual soul hooks poking through.
